Residents' Association Annual General Meeting on the 12th November 2018 in The Hobbes Parlour, Town Hall, Malmesbury, commencing at 7.30 pm.

1.       To receive apologies for absence.

2.       To confirm the Minutes of the Annual General Meeting held on 13th November 2017.

3.       To consider matters arising.

4.       To receive the Chairman’s Report for the year ending 30th September 2018

5.       To receive the Honorary Treasurer’s Report for the year ending 30th September 2018. 

6.       To vote on the adoption of the accounts for the year ending 30th September 2018.

REVISIONS TO PERSIMMON HOMES' PLANNING APPLICATION FOR BACKBRIDGE FARM

The September 2018 revisions to Persimmon Homes’ application for Backbridge Farm Mamesbury are now available on the Wiltshire Council site here http://unidoc.wiltshire.gov.uk/UniDoc/Document/Search/DSA,865370

There are a number of new documents and plans shown. To select the new ones you have to look for "Revised .." documents with the date “September 2018”.

RA members are likely to be most interested in the Covering Letter and the Design & Access Statement. The latter provides an overview of the new scheme and its changes from the previous application. 

PLANNING APPLICATION: PROPOSED ALDI STORE AT MALMESBURY GARDEN CENTRE

PLANNING APPLICATION: PROPOSED ALDI STORE AT MALMESBURY GARDEN CENTRE.

 Planning application 18/06980/FUL has been submitted on behalf of Aldi Stores Limited to construct a new food store at the Malmesbury Garden Centre site at the junction of the A429 and the B4014. The application also includes an outline application for replacement of the Garden Centre and/or employment uses at that location.

Although the application site is in the parish of St Paul Malmesbury Without, Wiltshire Council will consult with both the Parish Council and the Town Council.

The Town Council will consider the application at a meeting of the Planning and Environment Committee in the Town Hall at 7pm on Tuesday 7th August. Town residents are welcome to attend to make their views known.

The Parish Council will consider the application at its meeting on Wednesday 22nd August at the Corston & Rodbourne Reading Room, Corston, starting at 7.15pm. Parish residents are welcome to attend to make their views known.

Annual General Meeting 2017

The Association's AGM will be held on Monday 13th November in the Town Hall, commencing 7.30pm. After the AGM business, our Guest Speaker Wiltshire Councillor John Thomson will speak on "The Challenges and Opportunities Facing Wiltshire".
   All members and members of the public are welcome to attend. There is no fee.

Gleeson Appeal re Land South of Filands withdrawn

Wiltshire Council's refusal of planning permission for Gleeson Developments Ltd's application for 71 houses at Land South of Filands was subject to an Appeal announced in March 2017 to be heard in September 2017. However, the Planning Inspectorate advised in a letter of 12th July 2017 that Gleeson's Appeal had been withdrawn.

Association's AGM Monday 14th November 2016

The Association's AGM will he held in the Town Hall at 7.30 on Monday 14th November. The AGM business will include the Chairman's review of the year and the election of next year's Committee. Following the AGM business we will hear from two Guest Speakers from the Emergency Services:  

  • Ÿ         PC 863 Marie Poole, Community Coordinator, on Local Co-ordination and the New Policing Model
  • Ÿ         Wayne Jones, Station Manager (& Town Mayor), on The Dorset & Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service.

All residents are invited, whether members of the Association or not. Do come along, and invite others, to hear about the Association's work over the past year and from our Guest Speakers.

Land South of Filands (71 dwellings) application refused

The Town Council Planning and Environment Committee will hold a Public Meeting to hear views on this application on Tuesday 9th August at 6pm in the Town Hall.
